Ex. 2: Department Guidelines and Internal Work Plan

Introduction:

This document is a Stewardship Plan intended for internal use by the Central Washington University Advancement team. Employees who work in Alumni Relations, Advancement Operations, Development and Advancement Communications use this document internally as a policies document for gift acknowledgment and stewardship and also as a guide for a stewardship work plan.

When I first came to CWU to work as the Stewardship and Research Manager I was tasked with auditing the University Foundation’s stewardship/acknowledgment efforts, researching other University Foundation’s stewardship/acknowledgment efforts and industry best practices, and working with a stewardship task force to create a plan for revamping the CWU Foundation’s stewardship efforts. This document is the end result of that work and is used on a weekly basis by the department. This document showcases my abilities to perform research, interviews, conduct a task force, layout/design, brand consistency and use of graphics/headlines within a large document. I used InDesign for the layout and Microsoft Excel for the charts.
